Some yards just aren't working for the people who live in them. Too much lawn to maintain, no real place to sit outside, and getting to and from the street is awkward at best. That's exactly the kind of situation we tackled on this one - and the result speaks for itself.
Out front, we laid a clean cobblestone paver pad along the street edge. It gave the homeowner a proper surface for access while keeping things looking polished alongside the existing plantings. No more stepping through mulch or navigating uneven ground. It's a small addition that makes a real difference every single day.
The backyard is where things got interesting. We built out a full patio using large-format flagstone-style pavers set in a natural irregular pattern. The finished surface is spacious enough to comfortably hold a full dining set and a grill - which is exactly what it's doing now. It went from an underused lawn to a proper outdoor room. Low upkeep, high use.
What ties it all together is the detailing at the edges. The cobblestone paver border frames the flagstone patio and gives it a finished, intentional look. River rock accents and mulched planting beds keep the surrounding space tidy without demanding constant attention. It's all designed to stay looking good without a lot of work on the homeowner's end.
This is the kind of work we do when someone wants their yard to actually function. Patios, walkways, stonework - we plan it out so everything connects and makes sense together. The goal is always the same: a space you want to spend time in.
